  2. Well, as a trained historian, it would be poor discipline to refer to him as anything other than seemingly obvious fascist until enough others in my field peer review and upgrade to confirmed obvious fascist. So…

    Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

    That last bit is a historian joke. Future archeologists will probably dig it.

    2. ⁠Zero tolerance for criticism or questions
    3. ⁠Lack of meaningful financial disclosure regarding budget
    4. ⁠Unreasonable fears about the outside world that often involve evil conspiracies and persecutions
    5. ⁠A belief that former followers are always wrong for leaving and there is never a legitimate reason for anyone else to leave
    6. ⁠Abuse of members
    7. ⁠Records, books, articles, or programs documenting the abuses of the leader or group
    8. ⁠Followers feeling they are never able to be “good enough”
    9. ⁠A belief that the leader is right at all times
    10. ⁠A belief that the leader is the exclusive means of knowing “truth” or giving validation

  4. Because you’ve diluted the meaning of the word. Oppose riots? Fascist. Don’t want an open border? Authoritarian. Don’t think men can get pregnant / men can have periods / children should be able to get sex changes? Literally Hitler.

    You like to promote Hamas and spray paint swastikas on cars? Surprisingly enough you’re actually a liberal hero of freedom.

  11. Unlike my dad (I’m liberal and had a melt down in front of them, mom and dad, trying to explain what’s going on) they’re already brainwashed. They constantly watch Fox News, believe in the daily mail and info wars. I’ve even explained how trump got rid of the chip job site in Ohio that would create more jobs and save money . 47 doesn’t care.

  13. Because words are hard. Sure they are fascists and support all tenets of fascism, but to them the word fascism = bad and they are good. So they can’t be fascists.

  14. MAGA is a very similar to the “Cultural Revolution” era in China for a few reasons. Even if there’s a few fundamental ideological differences between the two.

    Trump is cosplaying as a Fascist because it’s a way to hold on to support from his base and because he genuinely admires Fascists. There’s no other way of explaining it.
