First time trying a Belgian beer and I loved it! Which one should I try next?

  3. This is just a cheap Heineken copy, the original is much better.

    I do like it more in a Kwak glass though, adds to the experience of authenticity.

  5. Try the same one next year. And the year after. And the year after. There is a fair chance it will be produced by another brewery every year, that is the Cara business model.

  9. I can tell you’re a man of great taste and high standards, I suggest you try a 365 pils from delhaize. It will please your taste panel as nothing else.

  14. Cara is okay on its own, but if you want to try the best our beer country has to offer you got to try a Mazoutje. Cara with coca cola, probably our best abbey beer.

  20. You just drank the best one. Now it’ll inevitable go downwards unfortunately. If I was you I’d stay with this taste in mind.

  27. Problem is, the taste changes all the time because they just bottle leftovers of other beers that are brew (brewn?) there, or at least that’s a legend someone told me once :’)

    Heineken is still our best one by far. Try that next time!

  39. You can try pretty much every single other beer available in Belgium and it’ll be better than Cara Pils. It’s the Nachtwinkle special. I think the beer is switches Breweries to who will brew it the cheapest and keep it as a cost effective beer. If you’re broke and have a few euro in your pocket that’s cara pils you go for, but thats about it.
    If you’re more of a Lager drinker, try Jupiler, Bavik, Cristal Alken or even Primus and youll be pleasently surprised how much better they are. If you want something a little better and want to keep it “light” or “blonde” I’d recommend Brugse Zot Blonde, Duvel 666 or the St Bernardus Witbier. It’s beer paradise in Belgium, there something for everyone so go give your tastebuds a treat.

  40. Carapils is know to have a large amount of low class people drinking it.

    I recommend Stella or Jupiler. The two most famous and best normal beers in Belgium imo.
