Aside from using AirBnB I don’t think it’s the visitor that’s the daft cunt in this scenario.
They weren’t to know that London Road is a shithole.
Guy from Galway books an airbnb on a street with a literal UVF mural at the top of the road and the place festooned in flegs.
What else did he expect to see out of his window?
Sydney Opera House perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain?
This came up about a month ago. That Bonfire site is going soon due to a housing development being built on it.
Local Loyalist community losing their site is pretty annoying for them, so this year I think they’re intending on making it absolutely massive. I’ve never seen it so filled so early, and they’ve been collecting for months.
Say what you want about bonfires, but there is a loyalist community identity aspect with them. Willowfeild kids want a Willowfeild bonfire, they don’t want to have to go across to Avoneil or Orangefeild on the 11th night. They want something that is theirs, and frankly, in this area atm there is nothing for the youth to be at, which is the big issue. No better schemes to give them something else to focus on.
Suppose it’s cheaper than buying a £40 tent from lidl
Thinking now of them bellends stood at city hall with a tricolour 🇮🇪 and butchers apron 🇬🇧
Ya hear anti-migrant rhetoric about “not integrating” or “changing the culture,” yet a Loaylist’s entire historical presence is rooted in planter colonialism. Displacing the native Irish population, enforcing their own identity, and resisting any assimilation into the broader Irish culture.
It’s a childish projection of insecurity that only gets worse as the Irish language and culture gain more recognition.
Nature is healing.
It looks like a very crowded apiary without zooming in
