What weapon? What exactly has Putin done? Europe wanted a capitalist structure on gas purchase, pushing for more spot market activity instead of long term contracts. They now have exactly what they want but when the market isn’t going their way, they cry foul. Ukraine has no god given right to transit gas to Europe. The supplier and the buyer are the ones that make that decision based on cost, risk mitigation and efficiency. The buyer in this case Germany, can get gas directly from Russia with no middle country charging transit fees yet people expect it to ignore that logical sense for some sake of a made up responsibility to Ukraine. Germany is looking after it’s own, that’s what a government is for afterall.

It’s too late for sanctions, Biden and Merkel have reached an agreement already on NS2.
The author linked the agreement, but he didn‘t understand it:

It already had been unveiled, pay twice as much for US natural gas. The kicker? It is made in the USA.
