Everyday I hope they are on the brink of collapse. Till now false hope, but hey, one can dream
Pride of the fleet
Anyone know the make and model of these howitzers?
I laugh that they are using 70 year old weapons, but if they work, they can still kill Ukrainians. So we need to supply them with as much as we can so they can take them out.
Hope these pieces are sent to Moscow for the parade on may 9th.
And at the rate they’re going they could be there for the nest time Russia invaded Ukraine
Camera person knows the score, even if they still wont fully admit it (“maybe theyre to be melted down” lol no…no they are not 😂)
Any old iron any old iron. Get back in the ussr
I want russia to collapse it would be funny and dangerous but still funny
they made like, 6800 of them, so….. use them if you got them, I guess. I know their artillery has really been destroyed lately
slava Ukraini. I hope the EU gets their act together with the meetings they are having to help Give Ukraine a huge for the spring offensive
17.4km range. ammo is not produced in large quantities and cannot be interchanged on a tank or modern artillery
Cool. Coping in the same in russian
They are like compulsive hoarders. Who keeps this shit.
Maybe a 30km range, need to produce ammo for them, it’s obvious they are scraping the bottom of the stored weapons barrel. These are well within drone range and need to be fairly close to the 0 line to be useful. Hose ‘em down with WD-40 and send them to the front. It’s obvious Russia can’t win. But forcing them backwards still a tall order.
Only the best equipment for the mighty red army!!!
Maybe steal a Ukrainian truck to pull those cannon fodder
How many artillery rounds can a donkey carry?
The amount of artillery that Ukraine has been hitting lately is enormous. The fact they have to dip into these particular reserves means they are running really low. Not to mention the norK stuff they just brought in too. I think by the end of the year we will see them doing a desperate conscription and zerg push, or talking about ceasefire.
Tanks running out, vehicles running out, artillery running out. All they have are meat and bombs in large numbers.
Where & why would they keep this old shit? No updating of equipment?
They should hit the trains in the rail yards
Looks like those are M46 field guns, Finns retired those in 2019 and send some of them to Ukraine’s army
Metal for the grinder
Russia and ukraine now both fighting with US supplied hardware
These are all Cold War artillery pieces, though.
The big ones are 152mm Giasint-B and 152mm Msta-B from the 1980’s.
With the smaller ones being 130mm M-46 and 122mm D-30’s from the 1950/60’s.
shoot’em! About third shell the metal fatigue kicks in and the breech burst….more dead orcs.
I visited the Armour Museum in Moscow in the before time.
Something tells me a lot of the exhibits are headed to the front.
Russian Doctrine is the never ending tidal wave of garbage. Which is wild considering that their population and economy aren’t actually that massive. The mass apathy and isolation of political power is the secret sauce that makes it all work. Wild.
Some of these may literally have been used in Ukraine before. The battles of Karkhov 1944 😆
Stupid question – but why do they hang on to so much old shit? They must have hundreds of depots just crammed with old gear
Let’s hope those barrels have a short life span.
It’s a good to see signs of collapse, but a gun is a gun. Hopefully these blow up in their faces
Whilst I don’t see these relics posing much of a *strategic* threat, it’s still more fodder that the Ukrainian warriors will have to deal with.
My assumption is that Russia will not be employing them in a way which necessitates maintenance, but rather, deploy and discard in a volume which keeps them close to parity for as long as possible whilst they manufacture more modern guns.
between this, Bowling ball bombs, 50+year old conscripts, armored vehicles made out of scrap, and motorcycle SCOOTER Troopers, you can tell Russia is really scraping the bottom of whatever shit is 10 feet under the spot the barrell used to be
While it does show the “scraping the bottom of the barrel”, they still do damage. Sure, they will have worse range, will probably jam more often and the accuracy is probably shit, but the russians won’t care, it will still hit whatever city they fire towards for even more collateral damage.
All that we can hope for is that the shells for these are mostly junk and they keep jamming. Or explode in their faces.
The barrels on those things will probably crack quickly.
Also I’m surprised Russia already didn’t melt them down. Pre-nuke steel is worth more.
