  4. Not sure what “progressive outlets” are struggling for cash but if they are it’s probably because modern journalistic standards are so low that people don’t want to read most of the crap they produce and they use too much clickbait

    And you often have to battle through adverts about hair loss and funeral plans before getting to the content

    Also places like Reddit basically allow people to pirate news content which can’t help

  5. Who is in profit before a launch?

    By definition you’ve got lots of costs before launching g a business yet zero income.

    There’s lots of things to take the piss out of GBNews but not being in profit before selling thier services is not one of them.

  6. There’s only one reason to start a commercial UK news channel. To get your message or brand out there. Sky news is very well established but is a loss leader.

  7. It’s not even a news station, it is a voicebox for the right wing disguising itself as a news channel. The good news is that very few people watch it regularly and many people have only tuned in to see what the fuss is about. It might have some hardcore fans but we’re talking a few thousand at best here, it is not going to topple the BBC or Sky News any time soon.
