Honestly, it’s super risky. It can take anywhere from 5 to 15 years, and it’s expensive, slow, and not exactly profitable.
In a time of constant crisis, the government would probably reset itself three times over before any of that even gets off the ground.

I had t 2-hour long “conversation” with a friend I’ve had for the last 30 years, who I didn’t realize was as right-leaning as they are, until yesterday.
They claimed that none of this matters, the stock price, the market drops, the halving of our 401k, because it’s “not real money” until you attempt to turn it into cash.
Applying a tariff on an island with only penguins as inhabitants doesn’t matter, since they’re not paying tariffs now anyway, and won’t ever pay tariffs, it’s just a distraction, a joke to point out how broken the tariffs have been for decades.
They also argued for an hour that tariffs are necessary at this level of percentage, because other countries haven’t been paying their fair share of the cost of goods, for decades.
They also stated that it will only take months to rebuild all of the factories necessary to create textiles, raw goods, lumber, oil, etc. that the U.S. needs, so we can properly isolate ourselves from the rest of the world, because _”…we’ve been trying to be isolationist for 3 centuries…”_
I just can’t deal with these people anymore.
It’s cuz they got tired of winning so they had to get a few losses in to make winning feel good again 😂
