  1. I guess the thinking is you can’t have wildfires if you cut all the trees down. Also, with the tariffs on Canadian lumber, we need wood. At least until the next election.

  2. I hope CA has some tricks ready. How about CHP doing endless vehicle stop and inspection . Anything that looks logging related gets stopped for about an hour, then 2 miles down the road they get the same thing from a different official.

  3. I love how simplistic their thought processes are:
    1. Open forests to logging
    2. Logging commences
    3. Lots of wood replaces Canada’s

    Sure, that simple🤣

  4. Stripping forests could lead to desertification making the remaining forest even more susceptible to catastrophic wildfire. That is my guess. Idk.

  5. This shit happens in Washington State, I’ll be getting a new vandalism hobby.

  6. Wow, how to fuck up your own country as quickly as possible.

  7. Forests are one of our most important resources. This will kill people from the decreased storm protections by means of flooding, and talk about our aquifers not getting recharged Jfc.

  8. I grew up in Weed, CA on the base of Mt. Shasta. All the small towns around the area had lumber mills. Most closed in the 80’s-90’s, but Roseburg remained in our town. It’ll be interesting to see if this industry returns. I’m also an avid mushroom forager. The porcini patches have been getting decimated the past 20 years in the area, and this will make these mycorrhizal mushrooms disappear 🙁

  9. I see that state’s rights bullshit went right out the window.

  10. There’s a lot of beetle kill pine in Colorado. Start with that.
