  1. >Harrelson, who was in the running to play either Walton Goggins’ Rick or Sam Rockwell’s Frank, was speculated to have turned down the roles because of producer David Bernad’s policy that all “White Lotus” cast members get paid the same. However, in a statement released to The Daily Beast, Harrelson revealed that he passed on “The White Lotus” because of his own family vacation.

    >“I was set to do ‘White Lotus’ and very excited. Unfortunately, their production schedule shifted, and conflicted with a pre-planned family vacation, forcing me to make an extremely hard decision,” he said. “Things must be meant to be though, because I couldn’t have done as fantastic a job as Sam, who is killing it.”

  4. Goggins and Rockwell are both better choices for their respective roles (if I had to guess, he was playing Rockwell’s character — I believe it was mentioned Frank’s original casting fell through last minute, and Harrelson fits his vibe).

  13. Harrelson was perfect imo in True Detective and his character was married to Michelle Monaghan in that shoe—that would totally have taken people out of the WL3 story. Plus it’s genius of Mike White to pay everyone the same—without blockbuster salaries enticing the superstars, we get a somewhat lesser known but still amazing cast. I’m sure the Harrelsons had a lovely vacation too 🤣
