Learning about Jay North was my introduction to how Hollywood treated kids. I remember an interview mentioned that when he was a kid he’d visit the set of the Donna Reed Show during breaks between taping Dennis the Menace. When he visited the Donna Reed set he basically never wanted to leave. He was running to a TV mom to protect him from his abusive real parents. Made me so sad to think about that and I’m glad he survived child stardom.
