1. Ooof. It’ll be interesting when the markets open.

2. I was hoping Cramer claiming it’ll be Black Monday would ensure that it won’t be as bad (still bad). But broken clock and all.

3. Tomorrow will be a day of mourning for the markets as they will plunge again.

   The blue wave will be coming in 2026, that’s the only thing we can look forward to.

4. Tuesday afternoon, like at about 4 pm, will be the retreat pivot by Trump. The markets will rebound, he’ll claim victory, troll a bit, and repeat the same process in a few months all over again.

5. I work in finance—particularly with the stock market. Since market open on Thursday, work has been a shit show. Just chaos and panic. This just isn’t sustainable. Even one of our MAGA clients is angry with him.

17. I hate the media more and more every single day for sane washing this bullshit. It’s not a “trade war” and never was. This is about extortion. He’s stroking his ego, and trying a power play to get companies, sectors and countries to come to him and beg for an exemption. A trade war implies a logical reason to start one. It implies logic and a never of selective use of the tariffs. And it implies a goal to be achieved. None of that is present. None.

18. I hopped on a local chat group for my county and the amount of people still pro Trump in this backwards area of Pennsylvania is alarming !
    I’m a transplant with a very broad world view . I traveled when I was younger and learned how much we all have in common as human beings . I really wish many others would have a better perspective on what all is happening to this country.
    The people where I live believe all the protests are stupid liberals and they must be getting paid . Trump needs time to get things done.. bla bla ! To hear this in my community makes me feel great resentment towards them. I pain to say that I’m not ever going to help them and volunteer like I did in the past .
    Trump is winning in the worst way possible. His decision to add tariffs has ruined my retirement plans, my trust in my neighbors and my hope !

19. I was rewatching the movie The arrival yesterday, and it was funny hearing that in the scifi of aliens coming to earth, they said that the dow dropped 2000 points in a day… Hollywood would need to adjust the numbers in the next scifi to make it more extreme.

22. I think the main problem with MAGA is that they just can’t simply say “I was wrong. He is a complete idiot.” They cannot uncouple their blind allegiance from this joke of a human being. It is both infuriating and hilarious at the same time.

23. High tariffs worldwide not only causing recession economically, may also trigger a financial disatster like the 2008 crisis. If stock markets continue to freefall, many enterprises may go bankrupt, as the huge loans made with their companies’ stocks as collaterals now have to be paid immediately. Then banks will go bankrupt too. The chain reaction won’t stop until the whole financial system collapses. This is a man-made fiasco done by an idiot named Trump.

    If the grandeously stupid high tariffs policy only withdrawn when the entire economy and financial system totally crashes like in 2008, it will be too late.

    This is not a surgery or medicine as the idiotic and moronic Trump puts it. This is bleach injected into a healthy person that will put an end to his life.

    Must stop this idiot before such tragedy takes place.

25. Here’s the thing: down is far more impactful than up, especially at this stage.

    Each red day from here on out just compounds this issue.

    The S&P500 will be down 20% since he took office, but will need to rally 25% JUST TO GET BACK to where it was before the drop.

    But consider this:

    If it drops another 5% this week, the recovery gap from 25% will be 33%.

    Another 5% (so 30% total) will need a 43% rally to get back to baseline.

    A 50% drop from January’s levels will require a 100% rally to get back to baseline.

26. A trucking shipping business I pass to go to work has had a massive Trump flag along with an equally massive American flag on their property. Trump flag had been flown since the election campaign. The 2nd day of the tariffs, it was gone. Not gloating anymore. And the business rents and services semi trucks, so they know they are fucked. It was the first sign to me the spell over the cult might soon begin to break. And they won’t be able to hide away their support like you could in the lesser internet days of W. Bush era. You can’t turn around and pretend you didn’t like Trump when you’ve spent your free time promoting him, politicizing everything with MAGA talking points, and making his politics your personality.
