Warning of fresh energy bill shock in October as prices rise again

  1. “A typical bill is expected to fall back to the current level in summer 2023”

I’ll believe this when I see it.

    Up like a rocket…

  2. Seemed like a risky gamble at the time (as I’ve been paying more than the price cap all winter long) but locking in to a two year fixed tariff back in September now seems as if it might well be of the best financial decisions that I’ve ever made.

  3. As a young adult, would it be naive of me to say these bills will go down one day? It just seems ridiculous that they’re allowed to get away with this.

  4. Will the government step in and do anything about this? Its honestly getting to a point where my family will have to sleep in one room with the old log burner on, and presumably all die from carbon monoxide.

  5. With Inflation to sit at 7% or higher this year.

I would recommend anyone to stick any spare cash into an ETF ISA. Worst case you will more than likely beat inflation.

  6. Reminder: the real problem is the system. I’m on a 100% renewables tariff but because the price is set by the most expensive producer my wind and sun power costs the same as someone else’s gas or coal power

    Absolute bullshit

  7. Great, a price rise right when the weather starts to get colder and heating becomes more in use…I’m already fucked, how much more fucked must I be?

Am I supposed to eat rocks and old trainers instead of food to try and pay at least some of these coming bills?
