It’s amazing to watch this 1930’s video of London in such vivid detail. The clarity and color make it feel like we’re right there with these people, experiencing their everyday lives. I’ve often imagined what it would have been like to live in the 1800’s or early 1900’s.

Since there’s been so many modifications over the years, my guess is probably wrong.
Charing Cross is straight to Waterloo East, King Cross, Liverpool Street and Paddington are all pretty straight now if I’m not mistaken.
I’m curious as to what station it could be.
Not a single black face. And everyone shown here is long dead.
A terrible war was looming.

It’s funny seeing it in action. Until about twenty years ago all the buses came along at once. Traditional. Wait twenty minutes and then three would turn up at the same time. They left the depot at strict seven minutes intervals but traffic conditions down the route meant that they all ended up bunched together. Now that they’re guided by satelite comedians can no longer use this as a go to joke.
Get off the road!!
