A new ‘wonderkid’ from Velez-Malaga is gaining national recognition for her sports performances. Irache Martínez Rodríguez, a 14-year-old boxer from The Boxer Club in Velez-Malaga, will represent Spain for the first time in her sporting career.

Irache will fight for the Spain national team at an international boxing tournament to be held in Rome from April 10 to April 14. The young athlete will compete in the junior 63 kg category, taking a giant step forward.

Previously, Irache Martínez Rodríguez won the national title in the 60 kg school boxing division. It happened last November, when the young girl from Velez-Malaga took the gold in a competition held in Palencia.
