  1. A ten day ban? That will teach him. Not

If he knew the horse was struggling, and he did, but still forced it to carry on then he should have a significant ban not some bullshit light one. Ban the bastard for ~~a year at least~~ edit: fuck him, forever so he knows there are some actual consequences for doing this.

  2. Did anyone actually watch the race?
It’s very sad the horse has died in the way it did but he didn’t whip it any more than the others. The horse slowed down towards the end and was in with a chance of winning. It seems the horse was just exhausted, just like long distance runners are when they get towards the end of a race or like professional footballers getting exhausted (dying on the pitch due to cardiac arrest) which seems to be fine and no one says shit about. I’m not saying that this isn’t a travesty, that the jockey gets 10 days. It should be longer but if the jockey has done what is deemed legal it is hard to punish them. Either we ban whipping entirely or ban the grand national or ban horse racing (which isn’t going to happen).

  3. Hope that little prick knows he killed that horse.

RIP to the Stunning magnificent animal.

    Ban the Grand National

Shame on ITV Racing also – they are more interested interviewing pissed up punters dressed like slappers, A Host drinking a pint on national Televsion! than keeping updates on injured Houses. Shameful really.

  4. It’s just reminded me if when I was at school. Just before a class started, there was a rumour going around during the Cheltenham Festival. That one boy had had about 4 horses shot. So I made a joke about it. Thinking that he’d just put in some £1-£5 bets and just been unlucky. Turned out his dad was a racehorse breeder/trainer and the family had basically bet everything on these horses.

    Sorry James.

  5. It’s an appalling spectacle that should have been banned many years ago. Absolute disgrace. I have spent my life surrounded by horses. Anyone involved is horrible, there are no others words.

  6. ‘The horses enjoy it and they’re treated really well, otherwise they wouldn’t race’ is a justification that comes up. What rubbish.
