    Roberts’ decision to bail Trump out is a deeply ominous sign that the chief justice wants to rein in lower courts standing in the way of the MAGA agenda. If he does, it won’t just be Venezuelan migrants who pay the price.

  2. the supreme court has two options:

    – uphold the law, get ignored by trump/musk, and lose all your perceived power

    – protect trump, pretend theres a reason its ok and remain exalted after hes dead

    they will pick the second option every time

  3. I don’t know that I feel comfortable seeing ACB as a potential ally, but I like seeing that she doesn’t always vote the way I expect. 

    Of course it’s not usually enough to change the majority ruling, but I’ll take the scraps I can get right now. 

    Roberts though? He’s trashed any legacy he hoped to have leading the court. This damaged the US as much as Trump has.
