  1. The coal industry is dying because it is a huge polluter and energy generated from it is the most expensive. This can only increase the cost of energy

  2. Why?!?!? Its 2025 who still uses coal?!?!? Hes setting us back destroying idk centuries of progress we have made towards renewable energy.

  3. And here i thought we weren’t supposed to be “picking winners and losers”

  4. The onion can literally just Rick roll people to CNN now.  Reality is dumber than satire.

  5. So he tanked crude oil with the tariffs so it is even less of a good idea to keep using coal from a cost perspective now. 4d chess right there, he is amazingly stupid.

  6. Coal is dying because it is expensive and filthy. Renewables are affordable, let’s go that direction now.

  7. Where is this new “clean beautiful” coal to be found that the President keeps talking about? The only kind I have seen is lumpy and dirty. .

  8. I come from a long line of coal miners and grew up in coal country. I see people back home celebrating this. Yet completly forget history. Coal is dead in Appalachia, it’s not coming back in any meaningful way. Coal may have provided decent wage after worker revolts and rebillions, but it lead to the raping of our lands, the literal enslavement of our people, and the ongoing drug abuse epidemic. Can we just finally move on from it.

  9. Didn’t he claim yesterday that a new coal-fired power plant is being built in Germany every week?

He obviously believes that himself and so his actions are absolutely logical.
Germans have closed all their coal mines, so they need a lot of coal for their coal-fired power plants.

  10. Considering many coal plants have been shut down he can’t just wave his magic wand and they’ll start up overnight. If he thinks people are going to build new ones I think he’s dreaming.

  11. There is an opportunity here to do something I suggest to anybody that reads this YouTube plasmabit. if we were to drill at these already polluted sites that has been designated for a specific purpose how long would it take to get thermal energy up and running. There’s two million years worth of thermal energy under our feet enough for everything.

  12. The market for metallurgical coal has been oversupplied for years and demand is dropping due to the transition to Electric Arc Furnace steel production. The cost of thermal coal is too high compared to alternatives.

  13. I’m all for taking reasonable measures to remove unnecessary govt restrictions and hassles so that free market capitalism can do its thing

But this seems more like trump is trying to arbitrarily throw coal industry a bone and prop it up where the free market otherwise would have said “no thanks to this mess”. I also don’t trust the govt not putting the environment at risk here…or even worker safety as they seek to remove barriers from coal companies.

Trump and the aforementioned “reasonable measures” don’t typically go hand in hand

  14. I’ll never understand what this man’s obsession with coal is. Ever.

  15. Is he going to have the government subsidize an automatic coal washing machine so they can turn that dirty coal into clean coal?

It was hilarious when Trump said if you wash it you’ll have beautiful clean coal.

  16. Bringing back Steam Engines next. High speed rail be damned!

  17. The coal plants that are closed were sealed off and not doing well in the first place. I don’t see how he’s going to be able to re open a bunch and increase demand to the point people would actually do it.

  18. It’s dying because we moved on from fossil fuels smh dictator chump is dumber then he looks folks

  19. Just wait until the protests start and dicktator chump send them all to El Salvador smh

  20. Just another example of his incurious perception of the world. He can’t look beyond his small world view set back in the 50’s protected by his father’s wealth and private schooling.

The energy industry is not asking for help with reinvigorating coal. The industry is still often close-minded with fossil fuel extraction. But there is some interest in sustainable energy. Trump is incapable of recognizing that the Biden programs were going a long way to assist development and transition to sustainable energy.

  21. isnt coal industry dying for a reason of being kind of obsolete in the modern world unless we force our way backwards?

  22. Of course he is. Why think about the future when we can retreat to the past?

  23. That orange thing is saving coal while destroying the entire economy.

Republicans brought us to this. Never forget. Never forgive.

    No. More. Republicans. Ever.

  24. We need to remove executive orders from the federal government. The President should be an administrator, not a dictator.

  25. Coal has been dying for the last 40 years because there are cleaner and cheaper alternatives now.
Remember on his first term when he pushed clean, beautiful coal? Where did that go? NOWHERE.
The 80 year old potus is still living in the past.

  26. If he’s helping it die, then good.

If he’s trying to keep it alive, then fuck that.

  27. I mean, it seems everything Trump has his hands on withers away, the economy, public services, human rights….so maybe this is a good thing?

  28. What is his obsession with Coal? Its dead dude. Let it go.

  29. Coal goes right along with his Gilded Age fixation.

  30. This is like Pet Sematary, “Sometimes dead is better”
