  1. **From USA Today:**

WASHINGTON – [President Donald Trump](https://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/donald-trump/) is set to sign an executive order Tuesday aimed at reviving the [long-declining coal industry](https://data.usatoday.com/coal-plants-near-me/) by rolling back [Democratic efforts](https://www.yahoo.com/news/coal-industry-running-fumes-likely-090426031.html) to curb a source of energy that’s a major pollutant.

[Trump](https://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/donald-trump/) will instruct federal agencies to identify coal resources on federal lands, lift barriers to coal mining and prioritize coal leasing on federal lands, according to the White House.

In addition, the order directs Trump’s [Interior Secretary Doug Burgum](https://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/doug-burgum/) to acknowledge the termination of the Jewel Mortarium, which paused coal leasing on federal lands; requires agencies to rescind policies that seek to transition the U.S. away from coal; and promotes coal exports while also pushing for its use to power new artificial intelligence data.

  2. What a waste of resources in inefficient power. There’s a reason coal died

  3. What a massive waste of resources and time for nothing but pure greed. The shift to renewable energy is inevitable, so why not make it happen now?? Jfc.

  4. I’m starting to think it was really bad that he won the election.

  5. let’s see fire by climate change or fire by nuclear launch

  6. Identifying coal on federal land is like issuing more oil drilling licenses and the price of coal (like oil) is in the dirt.

Cheaper to leave it in the ground unless times are so tough that black lung with a paycheck is all you can get ..

  7. This orange dude really has sworn to destroy the planet
