Eastern Europeans push for new penalties as EU sanctions fail to end Putin’s war

  1. Russians war industry runs on rubles. Russian soldiers are geetting paid in rubles. The few arms tech they import from the west is already sanctioned.

Russia can print as many rubbles as it wants. As long as russian soliders and the russian arms industry accepts payment in rubles, no further sanctions can “end” this war by defintion.

What Ukraine really needs is more millitary assistance, including tanks, apc, artillery and anti aircraft systems in particular.

  2. Sanctions would never end the war unless you took them to the point where everyone in Russia was effectively starving with no heat and light but as Russia is self sufficient in energy and food it’s not really going to happen.
