I’m buying type writer stocks right now.
Joe Manchin must be so happy right now.
All that sulfur will cool the planet off.
Damn. Kids and elderly in coal mines might not continue to be just a joke in a few years…
Even with this order, nothing will come from it. He made the same promises during his first term and coal production went down by the end of his term. It’s a dying industry and won’t be coming back due to cleaner and cheaper alternatives.
“No new coal plant has come online since 2013, and the average age of the current fleet is 53 years old. Currently, [coal makes up about 16%](https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=427&t=3) of the electricity mix in the U.S., down from 50% two decades ago”
Without NIOSH respirator support and approvals for coal workers. Great!
Let’s put this bitch in reverse 100 years.
lol why
The planet killer of AI & Crypto server farms needs to be tied to renewable energy instead of Trump’s insistence on bringing coal burning back.
lol, next he’ll be bringing back blacksmiths ..
Get your tariff exemption if you meet your coal purchase quotas for this quarter! Now with 75% more mercury in the atmosphere and oceans! Bring back acid rain now with this great deal.
The world is cooked
This will work as well as “Drill baby drill!” does. It’s just a PR stunt.
Yeah, is he gonna sign an order to revitalize the flip phone industry too?
The children yearn for the mines Mr. President.
Like manufacturing, coal is a dying industry in the US. Executive orders won’t do anything about it.
Great guess who wants to buy coal, nobody. Guess who wants to buy US products……nobody.
Welcome to the 1800s.
Kentuckian here. Black lung killed my grandfather. Roof falls crippled several of my friends. Coal companies pay the miniscule fines to avoid implementing safety regulations. And now Drump wants everyone to believe we inbred hillbillies long to march to the fantasy Disney-esque mines he sees in his dwarven, dementia-driven mind?
I’m not saying someone should do what many are thinking. That would be wrong. Some might think it would save the country, but it wouldn’t be right to even consider, plan, let alone implement. Sometimes, if we’re lucky, Mother Nature corrects history.
Thank god I’ve been waiting to work the coal mines since I was a kid. I hate offices. Black lung, here I come!
He’s really modeling a new United States with North Korea. A time of abundance awaits you, Americans!
