  11. As a man who bankrupted multiple casinos, it is very interesting that Trump keeps using gambling references in claiming we have “all the cards” against China’s “losing hand.”

    So it’s Trump — with that record on top of tanking the economy in 3 days — playing his hand against Xi, who has steered China’s rise from a late-stage developing economy into arguably the most powerful economic force on the planet.

  13. I would say no big deal if the USA had not spent the last 30 years pushing all manufacturing production to China. Trump makes no sense USA no longer has the capability to manufacture most things. The entire trade war is the stupidest war ever.

  19. I don’t know why the market is reacting to this as if it’s a big surprise. I was a near certainty China won’t back down, and Trump would go through on his promise of 50% additional tariff. In fact, it’s also a near certainty that China will retaliate again, probably no later than tomorrow.

  20. Guarantee no company importing from China will be absorbing these tariffs. So enjoy that 104% tax rise on your favourite products MAGA voters
