Prince George will have a fun story when he returns to school about his trip to Paris with his dad, Prince William.
The royal father and son popped up in France on April 9 to support the Prince of Wales’ favorite soccer team, Aston Villa, in their match against Paris Saint-Germain.
Prince George, 11, and Prince William, 42, were seen in the stands at Parc des Princes, intently watching the game.
Although the game occurred on a school night, Prince George — as well as his siblings, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 — are currently on a school break ahead of Easter. Prince William and Kate Middleton make it a point to reduce their royal engagements during their children’s vacations so they can spend time together as a family.
Prince George often joins his father at soccer games, and he appears to be taking after his father’s fandom of Aston Villa. Prince William once said his eldest son was “part of the pride,” a phrase Villa supporters use to describe their team’s followers.

Prince William revealed why he became an Aston Villa fan during a 2015 interview.
“A long time ago at school, I got into football big time. I was looking around for clubs. All my friends at school were either Man United or Chelsea fans, and I didn’t want to follow the run-of-the-mill teams,” he said, according to the Birmingham Mail. “I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments. I have got friends of mine who support Aston Villa, and one of the first FA Cup games I went to was Bolton vs. Aston Villa back in 2000. It was the atmosphere, the camaraderie, and I really felt that there was something I could connect with.”
Speaking to U.K. newspaper The Sun in an interview published on Friday, March 14, the royal revealed that he’ll spend “ages” on online forums about the team.
“I listen to what other fans have to say and give them my opinions. I get quite into it, definitely. It’s important to have that debate,” he said.

Prince William also revealed that his three children play a role in his superstitions.
“If we’re not doing very well, I start moving round the house quite quickly and I put the children in different positions hoping that’s going to change our luck,” he said.
As for which soccer teams his children support, William said that he’s “kind of hoping they’ll all find their own teams in time. They don’t all have to be Villa fans.”
“I’m trying not to be biased but obviously they see how passionate I am about it and they watch the matches with me. I’m trying to spread the love a little bit,” the prince added.
“They do have Villa shirts, and ask to come to games with me, but they have other shirts as well. There’s been a bit of courting going on by other managers too,” he quipped.
