On Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) reacted to U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers’ (R-Saks) prediction that Space Command would officially be moved from Colorado to Alabama later this month with the similar expectation.
According to Tuberville, once Troy Meink is confirmed as President Donald Trump’s Secretary of the Air Force, he’d be able to have the necessary discussions to move Space Command to its rightful home, which was deemed Redstone Arsenal in January 2021. He said he was “very positive” about Space Command moving to Huntsville.
“Well, we’ve talked about Space Force and Space Command quite a bit. We’re still waiting for the Secretary of the Air Force to be confirmed. He was voted out of committee just a couple of days ago. Hopefully, we will be to the floor of the Senate in the near future to get the Secretary of the Air Force confirmed, and then we’ll have great discussions, hopefully,” Alabama’s senior U.S. Senator stated.
“I’m very positive about Space Command moving to Huntsville,” Tuberville concluded.
