The Swedish government have opened a trade office in LLagos to serve as bridge for Swedish companies to invest in Nigeria and build relationship between both countries.
Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Mr Benjamin Dousa, said the long history shared by both countries would make the exchange a good match.
He spoke on Tuesday in Lagos during a cocktail event organised to commemorate the opening of the Sweden Trade Office in Nigeria.
“Tonight, we inaugurate the new trade office in Lagos. It’s a partnership that becomes even stronger. We’re both a good match for exchange, new partnerships are being forged between our countries. We must join hands to build a sustainable future,” he said.
A representative of the Swedish Trade and Invest Council said the office would build relationships between both countries as both are digital and innovative tied together by digitalisation and free trade.
The event was attended by the Nigerian Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Atiku Bagudu; and Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme.
The event coincided with the visit of the Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria Desiree to Nigeria and she was in attendance.
The event ended with a fashion show featuring Swedish and Nigerian designers.
