  3. Tell everyone that you know that you’re looking for a job after graduation. Friends, family, family friends, etc. Most people get jobs through people that they know.

    You don’t have a meal ticket STEM degree so you’ll have to sell people on your skills.

As a Philosophy graduate (with a double major in Criminal Justice) who was stuck in a job they couldn’t stand and didn’t know what to do next, working as a paralegal ain’t bad at all if you can work your way in and get some experience. I fell into a paralegal position a few years back (just a random shot in the dark application that worked out) and it’s set me up well for a career – I got laid off last October and it took all of a month for me to find a another job with a higher salary.

  7. I, too, studied history. Went on to become a plumber, a film technician and soon to be a paramedic. Life’s weird like that, good luck out there!
