Hi guys, I am posting this here in hope I can find someone who can help me. My Wilo machine for the floor heating is making constant ticking noises. Is this normal? I can still hear the ticking noise when the door is closed. The installer says it is normal but I doubt. Can someone give me advice?

  1. There are two things you can try:
    – Remove the air from the circuit. There might be an automated air purger at an elevated place, but it might be not working.
    – Reduce the speed of the pump so that water flows slowly. Downside is that it will take longer to heat up.

  2. Are we positive it’s the pump making the noise? By changing the pump speed, does the noise change?

In the box under the pump I would expect to see a mixer, which is designed to adjust the water temperature into the floor heating circuit. This is usually motorized, and the motor would be switched on and off periodically with a relay. Relays click. Might that be the noise?
