The sites ignoring and avoiding what the bill demands are likely to be significantly less mainstream and contain content more likely to be problematic.
The bill fails in every regard as it purposefully doesn’t cover huge swathes of user uploaded content and by 9:15 on the first day it comes into effect all the kids will know how to bypass it.
Online Safety Bill may ‘transform the web and popular technologies as you might know it’.
If it makes people safer I’m up for it. Gets my vote. It’s really dangerous as it is. If it means signing in with proper ID I’m all for it. People need to be held accountable for their actions and know they can go to jail for certain things. You are not immune.
