  3. It feels like betrayal. I’ve had disagreements with people over the years about American foreign policy decisions that I haven’t necessarily agreed with but argued big picture on their behalf. That’s gone now for lots of people.

  4. Always wanted to visit United States. It looks like there are so many great places there. I will not visit it under Trump for sure tho and it was in my plan for this year….

  6. There are many unexplored countries in Europe that needs and deserves tourism money.

    Skip the US and visit unexplored European destinations.

    If you must visit North America then consider friendly countries like Canada and Mexico.

  8. I was planning a family trip to California this summer. As soon as I learned Trump had won the presidency, I spoke to my wife and we were pretty much aligned — cancel it. Cancel we did.

    I know California is pretty much liberal, but I’ve been there and as soon as you step out of the coast you start getting Trump flags. I won’t contribute with my money nor will I risk my family well-being.

    It’s a shame, but it is what it is.

  9. I’m glad I visited NY and Chicago last year because I’m not setting foot in that country again until this madness is over and rule of law returns. So maybe never.

    Don’t want to take the chance of getting stopped at the airport and finding my self getting shipped off to an El Salvadorian prison for having anti orange Hitler messages on my phone.

American conservatives saw the possibility that they might get into a conflict with a country with a semi-decent military, so they turned on Europe because this was seen as safer. At the end of the day, the cowardice of American conservatives is the root cause of this mess.

  16. At this point, if I must travel there, I’m bringing a completely clean burner phone with me, and leaving everything personal at home. The chances of getting your devices searched and getting deported are real and happened to a French scientist not too long ago.

    You know, the same tactics used when you travel to places such as Belarus, North Korea, Iran, etc. Good job Yanks!

  17. Personally I’m skipping it because a foreign ministry has put it on a list of risky destinations. I’m gonna trust that the people who follow going ons on a country scale know better

  18. Flew twice from Europe to US since February and both flights were half full. That level of low occupancy is something I don’t ever remember seeing during the many flights I have taken for the last 30+ years.

  19. We cancelled our Disney world trip that we had booked for the end of the year. Didn’t want to risk any drama.

    Never been before and looking forward to the beauty of their country and seeing as much wildlife as we possibly can.

    I’m from Europe and can’t even contemplate either of us travelling to the US for many years.

  23. I would like to visit some places in the United States that we had planned. But under these circumstances and with Trump in power, I’m not crazy.

  24. I have visited America several times and I have had nothing but pleasant experience there. Yosemite National Park is one of the best places I have ever been to.

    However, under the Trump administration I now consider America to be equally appealing to visit as countries such as North Korea, Syria and Iran. And I wouldn’t go to any of those countries even if I were offered a free ticket.

    I find it impossible to separate the unforgivable political decisions made in just the last six months from the stunningly attractive destinations that America has to offer. I will not entertain the idea of travelling there at least until the political situation has altered for the better. I would be sad if that never changes – I hope it does – but for now… America has fallen and we cannot currently trust them to be our ally, in my opinion.

  25. I canceled my trip for all the reasons mentioned. To apply for an ESTA you’re also required to provide your social media accounts. I was laughing at Donnie’s 1st term and handling of COVID. The US are already rumoured to be using AI to monitor their federal employees. I’m not tacking the chance.

  29. I wanted to go and visit my American friends in the next year or two. I can’t do that now because I’ve been vocal in my disdain for Trump, Musk and the Republicans on social media and it seems that that is now enough to get you detained at the airport, or at any point during your visit at no notice.

  32. I have never been but now would not be the time to go. If i have to buy a second cellphone without any accounts on it because I have stated my opinion on Facebook or Reddit, it is not really a fun trip anymore.

  34. We canceled a holiday trip to NY this year. Not because we’re scared of being detained etc, but because we don’t want to support the American economy.
