  1. It would be interesting to see it broken down by practicing and non-practicing

  2. Can you do one like this for interracial marriage? Today, and 1970?

  3. Do Americans have an equivalent of the British Anglican Church?

  4. Why are white, black and Hispanic protestants different religions?

  5. Pro tip: if you never want to hear from the JW missionaries again, just tell them that your best friend who was disfellowshipped told you all about what their religion really stands for.

They’ll fuck right off. (Thanks to my best friend who was disfellowshipped for telling me that!)

  6. JW’s don’t vote… **period.**

They don’t vote in support of or against any politician or for any laws.

Their opinions have never been part of the equation for the support of laws or policies for or against gay marriage.

  7. I will never understand why people care who other people marry.

  8. For what it’s worth, the only listed religions which support same-sex marriage by dogma are Unitarians & some Mainline Protestants (e.g. TEC, ECLA, UMC)

  9. As someone raised catholic, why are “white” and “hispanic” catholics considered different religions?
They’re meant to be a single church no?

  10. I wonder what the margin of error on this is. I was raised Unitarian Universalist and, as funny as it may sound, 7% being against same sex marriage seems extremely high.

  11. As time goes on, the more that phrase starts to bug me. “Support for same-sex marriage” like we’re discussing a rational disagreement on which sport team we like more, and not human rights.

These are the percentages of these communities that recognize human rights are for everyone.

And it’s equally concerning that there’s such a high percentage in these groups that believe that human dignity and rights should not extend to everyone, and want to take them away.

  12. This is the first I’ve ever heard of Unitarian Universalist

  13. Who are these 7% of UUs who opposed gay marriage? I find it hard to believe they exist.
