  1. **OP Here!**

**The SAVE Act passed in a 220-208 vote.**

Every Republican present supported the measure in addition to 4 Democrats.

The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, would amend the National Voter Registration Act so that states would be required to obtain proof of citizenship in person from people who are registering to vote.

It would also require states to establish a program to remove undocumented immigrants from existing voter rolls and would allow American citizens to sue election officials that don’t follow proof of citizenship requirements.

Election officials and voting rights advocates have warned that the SAVE Act would disenfranchise eligible voters who don’t have easy access to identification documents.

Good time to find your Senator and tell them to oppose this awful bill!

If you contact them, please be civil but firm and do not spam the same exact message over and over again!

  2. I wonder how many Americans know, there will never be another free or fair election in their country again?

  3. The GOP needs to restrict as many people as possible from being able to vote. The only way they can win elections is by blocking voters because the majority of the country does not support them.

  4. Such a FKG waste of time. Multiple studies show the incidence of illegal voting to be less than .005%. So disappointed by our elected leaders, do something constructive.

  5. And that’s totally fine with me because I don’t understand how people can get to a polling place without having their ID

I understand that there are some people who are disenfranchised by being homeless and I would also point out that I happen to work in that industry trying to help people gain access to their identification

Some people want to be homeless so helping them get their identification wouldn’t apply to them but they wouldn’t want to vote anyway

This is really not an obstacle that is logical because I can’t drink unless I provide proof of my ID

I can’t go into the military without proof of ID

I can’t get a job usually without proof of ID

So as far as this is concerned I have no problem with it

  6. “We’re requiring proof of citizenship”

“We’re firing anyone who can validate your citizenship.”

So – if you go to validate your citizenship, and they can’t, does that mean they can deport you?
