Malta, NY — In response to two recent shootings involving State Police in Malta, Saratoga County, the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association (PBA) has expressed its support for the troopers involved.

Charles Murphy, President of the New York State Troopers PBA, released a statement highlighting the bravery and commitment of the troopers. Murphy said,

Our troopers demonstrate incredible bravery and commitment to public service every single day. These events, which happened not even 24 hours apart, underscore troopers’ unwavering resolve and professionalism in the face of the uncertainty and danger that comes with the job. Our union will support the members involved in these two incidents in every way we can. For those who were physically injured, we hope for full and speedy recoveries. In addition to bodily harm, critical incidents like these can leave emotional wounds that require time to heal. We will work with State Police leadership and elected officials to ensure troopers have access to sufficient support and services following critical incidents.
