CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend Bays Foundation is being recognized by the TCEQ with the 2025 Governor’s Texas Environmental Excellence award. 

The award celebrates bold efforts that organizations like those of the CBBF who is known for their big event, Earth Day Bay Day that is happening this weekend.

The family fun festival is full of interactive and educational hands-on exhibits and activities that promote environmental learning.

It is happening this Saturday at Heritage Park from 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., there will be wild animal shows, food and a plant giveaway.

It’s one of the many the foundation is a part of when it comes to educating the coastal bend on nature and the environment.

3NEWS spoke with Satosha Patterson, the Project Manager of the Coastal Bend Bay’s Foundation, about the award they will be receiving in June. 

“It’s to honor and recognize the hard work our members, our volunteers and everyone has been doing in the community to make our efforts possible.”
