Correction: This is exactly what they voted for. There’s a reason there used to be more public pools. That same reason applies now. An old quote that is still relevent today:

In other words, a big spike in people claiming to be “fiscal conservatives” really just want to deny benefits to the people they hate, even if they got hurt in the process too.
Crazy thing is this is exactly what they voted for only their selfish, myopic view of the world made them blind to the possibility of this even happening.

This isn’t like ordering from a menu in a restaurant. “Yes. I’ll have the racism and misogyny and anti-immigrant stuff but can you hold the economic collapse and funding cuts to essential services that I rely on? Thanks!”
