When JD Vance went to the base, there was no couch to fuck. Not cool and someone’s got to pay for that.
Considering upcoming world environment problems, US sees Greenland as crucial acquisition. Long term, they will pursue it, with Trump on board or without it.
An official request by Denmark and Greenland for the U.S. to remove their military presence would be interesting. I would imagine if this was ignored it would trigger a UN response. The sane world needs to start pushing back against this madness.

I swear, if anyone is surprised when Trump begins to rapidly expand Greenland’s US base and they begin launching sorties of extremely environmentally impacting strip mining operations to ransack Greenland’s resources, they are idiots. He is slowly testing and shaping the loyalties to that effect, while it seems he is able to distract the world into believing he’s only a crash scammer vying for pump and dump schemes on tariff markets and how they can exploit that. He’s making sure that normal soft power markets of economic power don’t threaten his authoritarian imperialist Project 2025 technate fueled dictatorship.
Market manipulation was not the end goal, they’ve been successfully getting away with that for years and if anything they know it threatens their ability to do so in the long-term – they have their eyes on a quite different price, and they haven’t been keeping quiet about what it is.
To me, the most surprising, disappointing and frightening thing about the current farce is that senior military leaders are not quitting on these buffoons *en masse*.

Vance is only VP. He is not in the military chain of command. The commander did everything right.
Expect most of the personnel there to be replaced, then. Many of those who worked enough time there probably developed ties with the locals, and turning them against their friends would turn out much harder and risky. The military aren’t robots like the police: many of them have integrity and a strong sense of morals.

It seems they want to replace those with common sense with those who will say ‘yes’ to every order—even if it goes against the Constitution. As a European, I find this concerning.
