Today, like all days, it is good to be from Cork.
You’re really comparing queuing time at an airport that has 22 departures in total today, with an airport that had 22 departures an hour?
Knock Airport is equally a joy. Arriving an hour before your flight, getting through security and a pint with your gate in sight.
Having gone through Dublin Airport, Heathrow and Miami Airport within the last 2 weeks.. I appreciate it even more.
The reason it’s so quiet is because no Corkman ever wants to leave Cork…
And no one else wants to visit them…

The reason Cork Airport is so pleasant is that nobody uses it because it has so few useful flights.
Oh I remember the last time I flew from Cork..walked in the door and our check in desk was the one immediately in front of the door, sailed through customs and straight onto the plane. An absolute dream, no stress.

Security isn’t the issue in Cork, it’s check-in. As slow as a wet week. But after that it’s great.
Just has incredible crosswinds and flys to nowhere haha.
If only they added back the old flights, amazing airport, love it.
Shannon is equally amazing. The only problem with Shannon is that the DAA and government seem intent on engaging in anti-competition and monopolistic behaviour, so there is rarely an option to fly from Shannon.

Nothing beats Kerry airport though. Can’t get lost and it has it’s own train station.

I’ve arrived at Cork airport when the gate was already open for my flight and still managed to make it, unparalleled efficiency
Lovely airport and staff. Kept very clean unlike Dublin Airport which is a kip.
They wouldn’t be half the congestion in Dublilin if Cork and Shannon were utilised to their full potential. It’s nothing short of disasterous that people have to travel from Cork to Dublin for flights to major European cities.
