
Got a taxi home from a friends house. Ride was normal. Got out. The taxi driver asked us why we slammed the door “two times”. I stated that I’m sorry but we just closed the door normally and apologized? Certainly didn’t mean to cause an issue?
He began to swear at us and told us to go fuck ourselves. So admittedly after trying to talk to him, I did the same. I mean, what the hell?? Bolt won’t admit fault so I’m stuck paying the fare and the tip for some dipshit that randomly decided to scream at us.
I’m just… taken aback? What is this? I tip, I’m nice, I’ve worked fucking shit jobs. I get it. But an assumed verbal assault??? I don’t get it man….
Thus far bolt has not even refunded the ride. So I’m happy to name and shame.

A lot of people dont realise that it takes a gentle push for the door to close.
Did you tip before the ride was finished? Why would you ever tip before receiving the service? IIRC you can tip on Bolt after you have finished the ride as well.

I legitimately think this every time i see this type of post. And all i can think of with this, is either proof or frankly, its word against word (or in this case you getting irate enough to make a reddit post about it) and telling someone to go f themselves is, well, insignificant enough, especially if there might have been some truth to it based on your story (key word is “might”- fact is, i dont know, so im not playing the blamed game).
Sure, its something they absolutely should not do and i dont intend to protect bad behaviour, but i’ve seen far too many cases even here in Estonia, where people just make up stuff because someone looked at them wrong or something.
Heck, i’ve even had good few cases where i talk with customer, denying their unreasonable request very politely and they get irate. Bit later, encountering same customer through exact same channel. Using exact same phrasing, passing exact same message and they are like “you are so nice but last guy was a jerk”.
So, I repeat the question: what exactly is the intended outcome of this post? Warn people about bad driver? Sure, but at same time, it really sounds like its over nothing. Get money back from Bolt? IIRC, you can remove the tip after, but at same time sounds like problem rose when leaving. And anyways, this is something you need to dish out with Bolt. Vent? Ok, i accept this one. Its valid.

If bolt refunded this easily, they would be bancrupt. No proof, just your word vs theirs.
