It is how it is. Pretty much all the abrahamic faiths are anti-lgtb in the book, and it very much depends on the level of secularity and flavour of faith in the congregation. Some are more chill than others.
Or you can do it the Italian way: not recognise Islam as an official religion therefore deprive religious buildings from state funding.
