  4. Fucking Christ! At first I thought she might have been 8 in 2008, but I looked it up and she was born in 1981. Only one year behind me. I remember when congress failed to pass the bail out bill and the market hard tanked. Two or three days later the bill passed and GW signed it.

  9. The frustrating thing is that an economic crisis emerged towards the end of the last two Republican administrations. And *both* times a Democrat was voted into office to oversee a recovery… But what did Republicans do during this time? They took the opportunity to blame Democrats for problems with roots that extended back years, all while inflaming their culture wars and dividing Americans during a time of financial crisis.

    And perhaps the worst part about it is that it was kind of effective for Republicans…

    The other frustrating part is how Trump inherited a growing economy in 2017 and took credit for all of the positive economic trends that extended into his first administration. That was until a real challenge emerged—the global pandemic—which he proceeded to mishandle at nearly every turn, leaving office with the economy in tatters, rinse and repeat.

    And repeat because Trump ended up inheriting a strong recovery for the second time following Biden’s term, and in under three months, he managed to destabilize global markets and devastate the American economy.

    No, Trump is not “better for the economy,” he never fucking was…

  17. The article mentions that people called her out on it after she posted online, but did anyone on the panel call her out in real time? If not, why not? Once someone says something like that on tv, the lie is out there and many people won’t see the correction later.

  19. When Obama tried to bail out homeowners, Republicans threw a hissy fit. The Tea Party movement was started by a bunch of traders on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange being upset that homeowners might not lose their homes – let that sink in, it’s actually unbelievable. The culprits were rescued and then they told Americans that average Joe, the tax payer, does not deserve tax payer money to keep his home, because that would be socialism.

  23. It had nothing to do with deregulating bank leverage before he was in office. Trump got rid of the laws put to stop it from happening again. Guess what’s coming.
