  2. This is the way for counter-drone warfare, air space above friendly units can be effectively policed without destroying the attack drone in the process.

    No doubt we’ll soon see cheap Chinese/Russian knock-off versions terrorising civilians soon because they can’t do anything else, certainly not be inventive.

  5. Rooty, Tooty Point-and-Shooty!

    Maybe call them something like these: Sky Shredders, Winged Rippers, or Wing Clippers? Personally, pretty fitting choices of names since they pretty much tear their targets down from the air.

    Mayhaps even use the names for new anti drone teams or combat groups for UAS unit. I could imagine a unit patch, for example a hawk grasping a Mavic style drone on its talons, or something simpler like a shotgun with wings.

I don’t understand why these drones armed with a shotgun are not more widely used instead of kamikaze drones when doing counter drone warfare as it is much cheaper to replace a shotgun cartridge than a new drone. I also think these drones would be cheaper in use when hunting down russian infantry as the outcome of being hit by shrapnel or a buckshot is pretty much the same.
