Of all the things to worry about, I fail to see why this isn’t a good thing. People selling their second homes means more housing in those communities for residents.
Between this and the ICE enforced eviction of Hialeah and Doral, SoFlo realestate bros are about to have the year they voted for.

No one but us citizens should own homes in the USA anyway. No foreigners and no businesses either
Sweet, thank you Canada. We can be friends after all.
This is good for US citizens wanting a home.
Damn.. More available housing..
As someone who lives in a Snowbird destination, I welcome this.
Americans are struggling to get homes in their own states that they live in all year. Rich people shouldn’t be allowed to own secondary homes like this in other countries.
More homes for Americans? What’s the downside to this?
I don’t with Trump’s tariffs shit and how he treated our allies, but this isn’t a bad result.
You do know that 1000’s of Canadians each winter drive down to the US in RV’s and stay in parks, they do not own homes. They rent, and now that money will not be coming down. Many businesses are going to feel that next winter.
Finally, snowbirds will stop propping up the Florida economy with their retirement funds and pensions.
The most heavily affected Florida areas, are already down $308,000 in price since the hurricanes.
As if snowbirds selling off their properties will have any meaningful impact on the housing crisis.
The median household income in Florida is ~70k.
Wait until you see what happens to tourism, rental cars, hotels, restaurants and all the related industries… and Europeans and others don’t want to end up deported or handing over their cell phones at customs. Congratulations Florida. And I think Canada and Quebec but tons of Florida orange juice and I can tell you it’s largely sitting on shelves here. Meanwhile the local brand that uses oranges from Brazil can’t make it fast enough. And with bond yields issues now, mortgage rates will skyrocket. Good luck to you all.
BlackRock bout to go crazy
How is this a story? It’s essentially “people are saying”, where’s the data?
Good. More inventory. That should help lower prices.
The article paints the picture that much of this is economical. A lot of Canadians are feeling the pinch.
I wish these types of articles had actual data instead of just two anecdotes from which to spin the narrative. Trash ass journalism
So?
It’s a pretty safe bet that US real estate prices won’t be increasing anytime soon so better to offload vacation properties now now than in 2 or 3 yrs after the US dollar has been devalued and is only worth a fraction of what it is today.
With higher home interest rates that are climbing I am sure all the houses on the market will be bought up fast. /s
Oh no, not wealthy foreigners selling their American properties! What a truly awful outcome
Hell yeah! Foreign owners have been driving up prices for a while.
Thank you! Maybe ill be able to buy a house now
Hollywood Beach condo market is about to be decimated
Good riddance
