Like this but there’s a big mission in breaking out of prison in wales and finding your way home, so many opportunities for cool side quests whether recruiting people into the Ira or going and dealing with some nasty Black and Tans
How does a 5 year old have grey in his beard?
Modern Assassin’s Creed games are massive open world now so I don’t know if that would work with being in Dublin then wales and so on.
Also the Brits would have to be the evil templars and the IRA split would be the assassins getting corrupted by their enemies to make it somewhat historical.
I can already hear the awful “Irish” accents that Ubisoft would hire for these games.
Ex Taoiseach Sean Lemass was one of Michael Collins assassins. He was part of the group that took out the so called Cairo Gang. In reprisal for it the Brits rolled into Croke Park and opened fire on the crowd.
There’s numerous characters you could be I’d like to see a few flying column missions,,humping it across mountains to conduct ambushes, wouldn’t just have to be set in dublin
This would be good, just not an assassin’s creed game.
I’d buy this in a heartbeat, and I haven’t played an AC game since Black Flag.
Hell in Hibernia? ( which is a fake ‘in universe’ game in the Assasains Creed games, set during the war of independance) Darby Mcdevitt , the guy who wrote a lot of the AC storylines always wanted to set one of tge games here.
( I think the current DLC is the closest we’ll get though)
We got the Wraith or Druids DLC so another visit to Ireland is unlikely.
But with the AC series is moving to a live service model so maybe an Irish War of Independence episode could happen.
Yea but is AC is shit now so it seems unlikely.
This is up there with the Reddit Ireland fantasy of a big budget film/series about Cuchullain or one of those Irish legends. The rest of the world doesn’t give a shit about this stuff.
Cool. It could include the 1921 attempt on Winston.
Please include Irish language in the release.
Would rather something like far cry to do something with Ireland tbh
It would be the first AC I bought since Black Flag. But the way the game has gone, with this open world RPG looter element..Jesus wept what a sad sight it became altogether. They have absolutely no conviction when it comes to commiting to an actual storyline – plus they’d only butcher it and we’d have to declare war on France or wherever Ubisoft HQ is
Honestly kind of hard to see happening, primarily due to the sectarian violence aspect that still exists today.
Tom barry and dan breen runnin ya around rhe west, setting up ambushes would be class.
This is a great idea. Even with ubisofts recent reputation, I’d preorder this.
It’s a perfect “nobody is right, nobody is wrong” situation that works so well in Assassins Creed games and the recorded history is so murky and disputed that they’d have plenty of leeway to explore themes and scenarios without bumping up against “established history”.
He mentions how in Syndicate they didn’t kill any “real” people to avoid backlash. Here’s one area where I think backlash from this idea would come.
People who know nothing about Assassins Creed assume that The Assassins are “the good guys” and The Templars are “the bad guys”. Nearly a century after the Civil War, there’ll be people (let’s face it, Americans) who’ll get offended that their side are being portrayed as “the bad guys”.
It’s silly, it’s ridiculous, it’s wrong, but it might be enough to throw up a red flag for Ubisoft. Given recent events, they’re being very very very careful to avoid controversy.
