5. His critics have been pretty consistent on the major problem being the Trump administrations lack of consistency. It’s a fair point and this only makes it worse for the “he can’t do anything to please his critics” crowd.

9. The exemptions were imbedded. The guidance is clear. DOD and High Tech got to him along with corporations and retailers; besides the Amercian consumers was getting nervous and Bond market was going haywire. It is even more expansive than the exemptions given to Canada and Mexico because those are temporary. The clarification by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection went out yesterday.

10. In a big picture, basically US is admitting that it cannot survive without technology manufacturing in China, at least in a short term (few years).

    What would happen if Xi impose export tax at 85% or outright ban exports? saying it is just a negotiation tactic and tell Tim Apple to tell Trump to call him?

11. This is awesome but how is he going to pay for his tax cuts now? I thought the whole point of tariffs was to bring in revenue so that income taxes could be cut. I guess his concepts of a plan aren’t even concepts at this point.

    I personally don’t want the tax cuts to occur I’m just commenting on the lack of strategy here.

12. Tim Apple’s ass kissing paid off. I’ll bet there isn’t a single Apple product made overseas that doesn’t fall under smart phone or computer. Interesting that chips are covered too. I’ll bet that was the work of AI and crypto guys.

    The truth is, there isn’t a single category of product that isn’t up for exemption if Trump gets his tribute from their reps. And how would we know? This tariff game is open to all sorts of corrupt dealings.
