Hey everyone! I wondering if I can get some help/advice from my English speaking Finnish residents.
Our 9mo has been using the Valio Tuuti 2 ready milk (carton) but we are heading overseas for a few weeks and need to switch to a powdered formula. We tried the tuuti 2 formula today but it smells and tastes like the inside of an old aquarium. A lot of reviews online say the same about a fishy smell/taste. Our baby hates it.
Anyone have recommendations on powdered formula without the fishiness?

Well that would be the fish oil they use . I don’t think there are too many options besides this and nanpro.
Tuuti 1 formula is great. Its only the 2 thats weird. I know its somehow optimized for younger babies, but i doubt its anything meaningful in short trip.
I’m not sure if that’s your case, but we had one can that smelled much more than usual and the baby didn’t want to eat it at all, and puked when we kept giving it to her without realizing there’s something off.
We ended up getting a refund and some extra after reporting it, but I don’t think we had info on whether anything was actually wrong with it.
The formula still stinks a little, but so does the liquid one from my experience, even if that one just a little less.
we were using that when our baby was 2mos old and baby were always crying (maybe stomach pains) then we decided to change it to Nan1 baby gets good sleeps and no cryings like when we were giving tuuti
Get Nestle Nan HA 2, it’s best quality. You should find it from Prisma and k-Citymarket. We won’t use valio just because it smells like fart protein powder. But our 11 month old likes the Nestle Nan HA 2(purple package)and sometimes we use nestle Nan pro 2 (blue package) if we cannot find the HA
You can carry the needed amount of liquid baby food for the flight and then buy more at the destination
Baby formula 1
https://www.semper.fi/lastenruoka/tuotteet/aidinmaidonkorvikkeet + 1 for Semper Products, only brand that worked for our.
I sometimes used the small baby Tuuti formula for my kid even when he was bigger because the 2nd one stinks and I didn’t want to keep it with me when we went somewhere. Maybe a few weeks is too long to use the one for small babies though.
Buy the same product but from a different lot to see if it also smells as bad. It could also be that you have a spoiled product.
When I went abroad with my son I changed his formula to powdered Nan 2 a bit before we left. Took plenty of it with us because I didn’t want to spend my holiday chasing formula. Worked fine.
Well it’s vieroitusvslmiste (rehab compound). Maybe the baby moves from milky substances to jar foods as the milky thing tastes fowl.
And may ne tge fowl taste is inline with the brand designer’s skills in Finnish.
DHA:ta is completely wrong.
It should be DHA:a (dokosaheksaeenihappoA)
To all people recommending Nan, Nan is from Nestle, an atrocious international company using child labour
And Tuuti is from Valio, from Finland
You can of course choose what tastes better, yet there is this important ethical point to keep in mind
Whatever the option, remember Nestle kills thousands of babies in Africa every year. Check r/fucknestle for more info.
