No thanks, the future of France is within the EU let’s not waste time and energy trying to appeal to the anglosphere it’s a complete dead end.
I’d say europe is home of the “West”. The UK voted to leave this home. And the USA has been founded as an alternative to europe. So both do not represent western values much.
Nice idea, but it’s written in a tone and way that might as well be saying: Europe should bring back the Roman Empire and its institutions, to save the world from darkness and bring civilisation to the barbarians!
Too much grandeur.
The ball is in Macron’s court. He can easily repair the relationship any time he chooses.
