This might be a stupid question but is it even possible to tell if someone has had COVID or not? Just because you haven’t tested positive doesn’t mean you haven’t had it, and if you had it in say March 2020, will you still have the “markers” in your system that say you had it? (antibodies or whatever)
I believe I avoided it.
Or I had something so mild I didn’t notice.
Retail worker behind a till. Till is 10ft from open doors so shop is exceedingly well ventilated. Till is behind a full wraparound perspex screen against droplet spread. I can’t tolerate mask wearing more than the hour it took me to do my own weekly grocery shop or Dart trip etc. So never wore mask in work. Worked out I personally served about 100,000 people and because I live with other family staff members was secondarily exposed to another 200,000. (We served about 300,000 customers altogether over the last 2 years)
Not so much as a runny nose. Then again, I haven’t had a single symptomatic respiratory infection in over 10 years.
I take it they’ll want to talk to me. LOL.
Locked myself away from public. Never got covid. Never saw anyone. Heard whispers…..someone is coming…….no it’s fine it was just my imagination…..or was it……”Beyonce?”
My husband worked throughout it and never caught it, even when I had it. The kids avoided it too.
They want members of the public who have family members who got sick, who didn’t catch it despite being constantly exposed. They may want samples from the whole family. I’m thinking they will want cheek swabs as it is a genealogical study.
Myself and my wife got terribly sick when the talk of a virus in china was almost a joke. I believe i had it then but havent been sick since and have been close contact multiple times.
Its a mad one altogether because ive had friends whos whole family had it but them and friends whos once it was in the house everyone got dosed.
I have a chronic cough at the moment thats not covid. 2 other negative PCRs and have been a HSE close contact six times. I doubt I’ll make it through unscathed though.
I not only slept in the same bed as my covid positive partner, I beat the back off her, interview me boyo
It’s a trap!
I would have loved to get involved in this, managed to get 2 years into the pandemic only to get it this week.
I signed up, was a close contact twice and one of those was my partner who I spent most of the days leading up to it with. Either I got it before or I haven’t been doing the antigens properly!
I don’t want to jinks it but……I lived in a 3 room cottage for the whole of covid and I mean fucking tiny 3 room cottage, my brother got it during the second strain of covid and I never got it……how I don’t know
Lad I work with who I get a lift with in the van in the mornings had it…..I didn’t catch it off him
Another fella in work, working right beside him all day for 5 days never caught it off him.
Not sure why or how but I just never got it while in all accounts and logic I should have and how I didn’t catch it off my brother I seriously beyond me, if you see the size of the cottage we stayed at during covid you would have bet a million euro that I was going to catch it off him while we were both in quarantine (I was a close contact because he had it).
I’m curious as to why my body has such a strong defensive to it
