Disliking a public figure like Elon Musk is a personal opinion, and everyone is entitled to have one. However, that opinion does not justify taking harmful or illegal actions—especially against innocent people. Vandalizing someone else’s property, is not a form of protest or free speech; it’s a criminal act. The woman isn’t Elon Musk. Taking your anger out on her car doesn’t hurt Elon Musk—it hurts an innocent bystander and undermines any legitimate criticism you might have had.

    I completely disagree with the vandalism on display here, I wasn’t even okay with vandalising Tesla dealerships never mind individual’s private property. But… there is no doubt that this also hurts Musk, indirectly.

    People are avoiding buying new Teslas for an added reason (other than Musk’s actions), to avoid becoming victims of vandalism. Tesla’s stock price is tanking as a result and Musk is hurting.

    However boycotting his products is already a very efficient way of undermining Musk without innocents being caught in the crossfire.

  9. I have no idea why people do this. Yes elon is an idiot but what‘s even more idiotic is destroying peoples property which causes financial damage as well as environmental damage. Aaaand teslas were once the „good“ cars… also a lot of people don‘t want to sell their cars just because elon is crazy. Some people don‘t have the means to just sell a car and get a new one…

  18. Unfortunately, there is a significant portion of far-left/radical people in Switzerland who spray their slogans on everything. They see it as their right to destroy any property and attack all people who have different opinions.

    The worst part is that in many of the big cities in Switzerland, e.g., Bern, Basel, Zurich, and Geneva, this behavior is tolerated or ignored by the ruling political parties (SP, AL, Grüne). And reading some of the comments here, it does not seem to be much better on Reddit…

  26. I think this is dumb. Why not burn fat-ass pickup truck instead ? Why not burn petrol station? The oil industry is responsible for almost all issues in this world for 100 years. All car brand CEOs are far-right bad people… Even worse! We have far-right representatives as head of state… 30% of Swiss people are on the far-right political spectrum, close to Musk’s (new) ideology. Act locally… Vote! Instead of defacing cars. Vote while we still can.
