  2. This is actually a very big deal. Musk is the owner of X-Twitter. He just fired all of Social Security’s field Public Information Offices. Their central PIO is minimally staffed so changing their messaging platform from government SSA computers to the private company he owns is a big time conflict of interest. That’s obvious self enrichment at taxpayer’s expense which is a federal crime he will be held accountable for in the future.

  8. I am 70, have a desktop computer, and a good Internet connection. I am computer literate. I have worked in Silicon Valley as a technical writer. I refuse to ever use X because it is toxic.

    People who are so poor they rely mostly on Social Security for income, and/or live in rural areas, often don’t have a computer, a good Internet connection, or the level of computer literacy that I have. Of course, Musk doesn’t actually want people to get their benefits.

  9. No government information should ever be posted on any third-party website. Use social media to post links to the actual government website.

  10. Don’t worry. Social Security data has been completely compromised now; there’s no way to unring that bell. Several of the Nazi script kiddies on the DOGE team have connections with the criminal underworld. Sooner or later, there’s going to be a *massive* data dump, which will, of course, make a perfect pretext to suspend Social Security payments… you know, until we can get it all sorted out.

    This will save “the government” a pile of money in the short run, and in the long run it’s even better. All those useless eaters will just starve. The virtuous old people – that is to say, the wealthy – will be just fine. So relax. Everybody’s going to get through this. Everybody who’s anybody, that is.

  12. I’m not on X anymore either. No one should be forced to have to engage with a social media platform. The government should be required to provide communication that anyone can equally access. I’m assuming there are probably already laws about it.

    SocialsecurityInfo.gov and reshare all the info that the Twitter account post.

    Also include fact checks and other info

  23. Twitter, especially in its porn form, X, is not a government site and should never be used for any government agency. Somehow I doubt the legislative or judicial branches will do anything about it. After all they don’t need SS disability or retirement.

  29. I find it more interesting that if Trump is going to go with a social platform, he didn’t go with his own. This guy is all about promotion. And what would be a bigger promotion than to force everyone to go to his tanking Truth Social if they want any info on their SS. (No, not that SS. The other SS.)

    So, I want to know why X over Trust Social? Is Musk really that much in charge? Or is this a case of Musk telling Trump, “Don’t worry. Leave it to me. I’ll do all the work. You can just go golf and relax.” Honestly, I feel either way could work.
