Amazing that there should be something more concerning in the world right now than the capricious whims of Donald Trump’s deteriorating brain, but what people really need to be worried about is Trump’s coterie of advisors, most notably Vance, Stephen Miller, and Peter Navarro.
Trump is a crazed old man with a god complex, but he’s also lazy and limited by his crude imagination, which is only creative in devising ways to humiliate or find leverage over people.
The other three, meanwhile, are genuine believers and ideologues, with actual revolutionary designs on the world. And it should be clear from their handling of these tariffs, Killmar Abrego Garcia, and attitude toward Greenland, that the rights and lives of people who stand in their way do not factor into their calculations at all.
