I don’t think that this government funded research will stop in the United States, but is **being removed from a public facing agency**. Where it can be used in pursuit of climate change related damages against fossil fuel industry defendants. Or, could potentially cause further raised alarm among the public.
It’s a bit ridiculous to think that the U.S. military wouldn’t want and thoroughly need the most advanced weather and climate prediction systems available. Especially as the Arctic continues to melt down and resource power struggles arise. Information is power. Especially in a climate changing world. And it’s my suspicion, that these functions are moving under an umbrella of national security secrecy.

And I think it’s possible it is not for purposes most of the public is aware of; as immigration has been now declining for several years. It may very well be climate refugee prepping.
