Hello!

As I’m sure you would’ve heard, electricity rates went up today.

I wanted to know exactly what that means for my bottom line so I’ve made this simple spreadsheet to help calculate it.

Here’s the link: [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16xlw5DPTLEoR4rQZKsv1uQmeo-Bhc9d5cKpkiNM8XOs/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16xlw5DPTLEoR4rQZKsv1uQmeo-Bhc9d5cKpkiNM8XOs/edit?usp=sharing)

it works by you entering your earliest known meter reading and your latest known reading \[make sure you enter the dates accurately – Double click on the dates that are currently there and you should bring up an actual calendar to select the date from\]

Then just update the rates and the sheet will do the rest.

Hopefully this helps at least one person out!

Cheers

Edit: this sheet is updated with a calculator for gas too: [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EEvqCaMY5jep-bqwizuOjqRXlKMqpkZModkZN5AHqPw/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EEvqCaMY5jep-bqwizuOjqRXlKMqpkZModkZN5AHqPw/edit?usp=sharing)

I’ve not got much experience with gas so I’m not super confident it’s 100% correct

  1. I luckily don’t have to deal with Gas rates currently [it’s just electricity in my flat], but if someone shows me how their gas bill is calculated I could quickly make a version of this spreadsheet that accounted for gas rates too – I’m assuming it’s a similar ‘cost per unit’ and ‘units used’ thing?

  2. I was going to do something like this myself, so thank you for taking the time and effort!

Unfortunately it’s only letting me view the sheet – to edit I need to send you a request. Not sure how sharing works with Google Sheets, but if you need to request edit rights for everyone who wants to use it that might be a bit of an effort on your part.
